The most cost effective way is, in theory, with stablecoins. However in many cases there is a cost to get into the eco-system (on ramp) or to get out of the eco-system and back to "normal money". Also right now stablecoins are nearly always dollar based. Even in the UK our regulators haven't approved a GBP based stablecoin yet.
