Thanks Thomas. I believe this angle is often missing in the fintech space. I know not everyone likes this style but it’s important to ground technology within culture and real life as nothing exists in a vacuum — including payments. I’d like to mix this style with “dryer” payments analysis pieces going forward. This style actually takes far longer to write than longer tech focused pieces even though some of those have been much longer!
Great Article and Title Matt. This reflects my experience working with and seeing Blik in the real world. I had always wondered how to write about the share scale of the progress they made, and over indexed on the complexity. Who knew making it about donuts was the perfect way to tell the story. Now will start telling Fintech travel tales from the POV of sampling the local cuisine.

Sadly not. BLIK is owned by a private company called Polski Standard Płatności (PSP). The shareholders are six Polish banks and Mastercard.
